Alternative Accommodation & Transport

The Edinburgh Convention Bureau have block reserved many rooms for Congress delegates at convenient city centre hotels and if you wish to reserve one of these rooms you should indicate this accordingly on the Congress Registration forms.

However if you wish to stay in an alterative hotel, either in the city centre that is smaller, more personal or more individual, we are offering a bespoke service to reserve accommodation for you in an alterative hotel, that you may particularly enjoy.

We are offering a selection of properties from the following categories:

3 star hotels – usually smaller properties, low cost, clean and presentable and more suited to those on a lower budget…

4 star apartments – high quality apartments with ensuite bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. More space for a lower cost than comparable hotel rooms. Perfect for 1 or 2 couples travelling together.

4 star hotels - larger more elegant hotels with high quality rooms and restaurants.

4 star resort - with leisure health club, golf courses and a relaxed ambience that does not exist in the city.

5 star resorts - Gleneagles and St Andrews are both over 1 hour drive from the conference centre but if you are travelling with friends or family, and they wish to make a vacation out of their trip to Scotland, you might want to consider these world class resorts, provided you are prepared to travel each day to the conference.

Deluxe Castles - Edinburgh has several castles 10 – 15 miles south of the city that offer high quality rooms in a genuine castle. A fun experience awaits.

All prices include breakfast – except at the 4 star apartments.

Clean, comfortable and good service standards from these typical city centre hotels. Breakfast is always included in the price.

4 star apartments:

Having your own apartment offers much more living space without compromising on quality. These high quality apartments have bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, with separate lounge and there is a good selection of restaurants nearby. Ideal for families, or one or two couples travelling together.

From £75 per person per night based on 2 sharing or £70 per person based on 4 sharing.

4 star hotel:

High quality rooms and bathrooms providing a very comfortable stay. Good restaurants on site and high quality service standards make this an ideal choice for many visitors to Edinburgh.

4 star resort with Health Club:


A 215 room hotel with 2 golf courses, driving range, spa and a good selection of restaurants,  just 10 miles from the city centre. A spacious, elegant resort within easy reach of the main conference location.

5 star resorts

Fairmont St Andrews Bay

Built in 2000 this resort also been recently refurbished and now offers top quality accommodation. Those familiar with the Fairmont brand will be aware of their high standard of their hotels.  Spa, 3 restaurants, 2 golf courses, driving range and stunning views of the North Sea and the St Andrews skyline. 5 star resorts

Gleneagles Hotel

Deluxe Castles

If you have always wanted to stay in a castle then this is the time to try it. There are several stunning castles that have been sensitively coverted to create modern high quality hotels with all the amenities you will be expecting (elegant bathrooms, web access, power showers, great beds etc).

However the high ceilings, the stone floors and walls as thick as a small car make you realise that you are not staying in the average motel or travel lodge.

Elegant décor, excellent service and maybe the occasional ghost or two could make this your ideal location. Drive time to the Congress is around 30 – 40 minutes depending on traffic.

We will be happy to include self drive transport in your quote. If you prefer, we can supply your own driver for the duration of your visit.
